The Platform and Features
How does the AI tutor work?
The AI tutor uses the Socratic method — it asks you questions to guide you toward understanding, rather than simply giving you the answer. It adapts the difficulty of questions to your current mastery level in real time and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is the whiteboard feature?
OxbridgeAI has a built-in whiteboard where students write their full working using a stylus. The AI reads the student's handwritten working directly on the whiteboard, identifies exactly where the mistake occurred in the working, and explains the correct approach step by step. This is the same feedback loop you would get from a human tutor reviewing written working — except available at any hour.
Can my child use the whiteboard on a tablet?
Yes. The whiteboard is designed for use with a stylus on a tablet. It works on iPad and other stylus-enabled devices.
What is the mastery tracking system?
Every topic has a mastery level that updates in real time after each question. For ESAT: Warming Up → Needs Focus → Building → Strong → Exam Ready. For TMUA: GRAY → RED → AMBER → GREEN → GOLD. A topic only advances when genuine mastery is demonstrated across multiple questions — not from a single correct answer. Topics also decay over time if not revisited, so the system schedules spaced reviews automatically.
Are there mock exams?
Yes. Full timed mock exams for both TMUA and ESAT unlock when the student reaches 50% or more of topics at Strong or Exam Ready level. After each mock exam the student receives a detailed breakdown of performance by topic.
Is OxbridgeAI available on mobile?
Yes. It is fully web-based and works on mobile, tablet and laptop.
For Parents — Safety and Trust
Is AI actually a reliable way to prepare for these exams?
OxbridgeAI was built by students who went through this exact process themselves and got Oxford offers. The content — every question, every explanation — was curated and validated by Oxford Engineering graduates, not generated generically. The AI tutoring layer adapts and coaches, but the question bank is built to the exact spec of TMUA and ESAT past papers. In beta testing, two students scored in the top 3% globally and both received Oxford offers.
What if the AI gives my child a wrong explanation?
The AI tutor operates within tightly controlled parameters. It does not generate explanations from scratch — it works from verified question content and solution logic built by Oxford Engineering graduates. If you ever have a concern about a specific explanation, contact agureevvlvl@gmail.com and we will review it immediately.
How is OxbridgeAI different from just using ChatGPT for revision?
ChatGPT has no structure, no curriculum, no mastery tracking, no exam-specific question bank, and no way to review your child's written working. OxbridgeAI has all of those things, built specifically around TMUA and ESAT. It also shows you as a parent exactly where your child stands and whether they are making progress — something no generic AI tool does.
Will my child become dependent on the AI and not learn to think for themselves?
The AI specifically does not give answers. It asks questions and guides — the same philosophy as the best human tutors. The Socratic approach means students have to work through problems themselves. The AI just makes sure they never get permanently stuck or go unchallenged.
What data does OxbridgeAI collect about my child?
OxbridgeAI collects the minimum data necessary: the student's name, email, school, target university, target course and session activity (questions answered, mastery levels, session times). No data is sold to third parties. The platform is GDPR-compliant and a full Privacy Impact Assessment has been completed. Contact agureevvlvl@gmail.com for the full data processing documentation.
Is my child's data safe?
Yes. Data is stored on secure servers within the UK/EU. Student data is never shared with third parties or used to train external AI models. The platform was built to comply with the UK GDPR and the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code).
Can I see exactly what my child is doing on the platform?
Yes. The parent dashboard shows every session your child has completed, their mastery level for every topic, when they last practiced, and how many sessions they have done this week. An AI mentor on your dashboard answers your specific questions about their progress in plain English — for example "Is my child on track for October?" or "What are their weakest areas right now?"
Does the parent dashboard show their scores and accuracy?
No, intentionally. Raw scores and accuracy percentages can be anxiety-inducing and misleading without context. The parent dashboard shows mastery levels and trajectory — which is more meaningful than a single percentage. You will be able to see clearly whether your child is improving, stagnating or falling behind.
My child says they understand everything but I'm not sure they are actually prepared.
The mastery system does not take a student's word for it. A topic only reaches Strong or Exam Ready status after the student has demonstrated correct answers consistently across multiple questions, including under time pressure. You can see the mastery status of every topic in the parent dashboard.
How much time should my child be spending on OxbridgeAI per week?
We recommend 3–5 sessions per week of 25 minutes each, starting 10–14 weeks before the exam. The parent dashboard shows you the actual session count each week so you can see whether your child is sticking to this.
What if my child is already working with a private tutor?
OxbridgeAI works extremely well alongside a human tutor. The platform handles daily practice and identifies the specific weak areas, so when your child does see their tutor, the session can be focused on the topics that actually need human attention. Many parents find this significantly reduces the number of tutor hours needed — and therefore the cost.
What results have students actually achieved?
In beta testing at Brighton College, two students scored in the top 3% globally on their admissions tests. Both received Oxford offers. OxbridgeAI achieved a 100% Oxbridge offer rate in its beta cohort. The platform is currently live at Brighton College, where Miss Duelas uses it for ESAT preparation.
Who is behind OxbridgeAI — is it a real company or a student project?
It is a real product built by Vlad Agureev, an Oxford Engineering offer holder from Brighton College, alongside his two older brothers who are both Oxford Engineering graduates. It is live at a real school with real students and real results. It is not a side project — this is Vlad's full focus before he starts at Oxford in October 2026.
What if my child does not get on with the AI or the platform does not suit them?
Contact agureevvlvl@gmail.com. We will discuss your situation and find the best path forward.
For Schools and Teachers
Can my school use OxbridgeAI?
Yes. OxbridgeAI is currently live at Brighton College, where Miss Duelas uses it for ESAT preparation. Teachers can create class codes and manage their students through a dedicated teacher dashboard. Contact agureevvlvl@gmail.com to discuss school-wide access.
What does the teacher dashboard include?
Teachers see all enrolled students in one view with status indicators (on track, needs attention, inactive), can identify which topics the whole class is struggling with, and use an AI class assistant to answer questions like "which students need intervention this week?" and "what should I focus on in next week's lesson?" Weekly class summaries are also available.
Do we need a formal data processing agreement?
Yes. OxbridgeAI provides a Data Processing Agreement for schools. Contact agureevvlvl@gmail.com to request one before deployment.
